At Flatfile, a field is a place where data can be stored. You can think of it as a text field on a form, except it can accept more than just text strings.
A field is a container for data that has identifiable, addressable information attached to it. An “Employee” record, for instance, may have a “Name” field contained within it.
In Flatfile, fields are defined in two places: the sheet and, sometimes, custom fields during the matching step. After defining these fields, they are then matched and validated against incoming data with the same fields.
