Relational data is a type of data field designation available when you set up a data template that indicates a link between two different data templates. This feature is only available with Workspaces, as Portal only deploys one template at a time.

At Flatfile, setting up a relational data field in your data template links two data templates together. Once this connection is established, any field from the data template that is being linked to can be referenced via the field that is doing the linking. When properly set up, relational data links one unique field in one data set to an entire, second data set via that field.

For more information about setting up and using relational data, see our relational data guide.
