Flatfile uses AWS Data Centers located in the US as well as a few international locations to ensure that customers located around the world are able to reach our servers as quickly as possible and import data. However, occasionally slow connections or remote locations can still mean that imports move more slowly than desired. Here are a few things you or your users can do to ensure you are eliminating any obstacles:

  • Make sure your browser is up to date. Flatfile is tested with recent versions of the major browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If your browser version is several versions behind, we would recommend updating to a more recent version.

  • Make sure you have a reliable connection with your ISP. Any interruptions in service or slow speeds will affect your ability to upload files to Flatfile servers.

  • If you are having trouble importing over Wifi or are located some distance from your wireless access point, a hardwired connection to your computer could help with ensuring your import works smoothly.

  • If you are using Portal 2.0, the amount of time it takes for an import to be uploaded depends entirely on your local hardware. The amount of available RAM can play a role in how quickly large files import, so if you have trouble importing large files and are able to upgrade your RAM, this could help.

If you've tried each of these options and are still having trouble importing files to your Flatfile Portal or Workspace, reach out to support at support@flatfile.com!
