In Flatfile’s terminology, a “team” is the lowest level at which permissions and access can be managed for users. Any user on the same team has access to all data uploaded by any other user on that team. Depending on your needs, you may assign everyone in your company to the same team, or you could set up multiple teams to more finely control access to important or sensitive data. Teams are managed by Team Owners.
Team Owners may add or remove users from the Team they manage. You can also contact Flatfile Support by emailing support@flatfile.com for assistance with making changes to your Team. Keep in mind that your Team in the Dashboard is meant for internal company users. You can manage outside collaborators (such as customers) with Organizations. Organizations allow customers to upload and clean documents within a Workspace, but without being granted the same access as being added to a Team.
If you're using Workspaces, you can assign customers to an Organization in order to add them to the appropriate Workspace. You have the option to create the Organization either ahead of time or during the creation of the actual Workspace in the Flatfile Dashboard.
