A Data Hook® is a short snippet of code that allows you to validate, manipulate, and format data as it is being uploaded.
Data Hooks® are written in JavaScript, so a basic understanding of JavaScript is helpful if you want to create one. However, we do have a library of commonly used Data Hooks® that should help you get started. Data Hooks® are accessed through specific data templates, and only run on the specific data template they are assigned to.
To write, edit, or view a Data Hook®, click on Templates in the left-hand navigation menu, then click on a specific data template. If you have access to data templates, you should see a Data Hooks tab. Click on that, and you’re set!
To learn more about writing or editing Data Hooks®, take a look at our Data Hooks guide.
