Glossary: File

A computer file is a collection of data of a certain type. Files come in different formats that can be read or interpreted by different programs.

Files contain the data you want to validate. Files can be uploaded or downloaded through the Flatfile Dashboard, or uploaded through one of Flatfile’s Flows. 

We generally recommend that files uploaded to Flatfile are kept under 1GB. We support the following file types: .csv, .tsv, .xls, .xlsx, .xml, and .txt file types.
