Source Editor
Last updated: July 22, 2025
Flatfile’s Source Editor allows you to edit your files within Flatfile prior to import.
While this is intended to allow for editing the schema (and not transforming values, which happens post-mapping), it is also possible to manually edit values from within this view.
How to use Source Editor
Upload your file
Go to the Files section within your Flatfile project. Use the drag and drop feature to add your file or click Upload file.
Open the file
Once your file is uploaded, find it in your Files list and click the file name to open it.
Make your edits
You can manually make edits within cells or select the three dots in a column header to add, remove, rename, or clear columns.
Source Editor FAQs
Why don’t I see this in my workbook?

What if I need to undo a change?
Click the History icon in the top-right to see all previous versions of your workbook. You can revert to a prior version at any time.
